On October 24, 2020 Facebook and Instagram's OEmbed APIs were migrated to require authentication and were moved behind the facebook Graph API, rather than being publicly available.

Initially we modified our API to handle this change, however since implementing this new framework, we have seen consistent issues with upstream rate-limiting and problems accessing content which was previously supported by Embed.ly, leading to missing or invalid embed content.

At this time, we are doing our best to work with the team at Facebook to resolve this issue, however we can not guarantee that our efforts will lead to full support and access to facebook and instagram content. We highly recommend that you begin to explore alternatives for embedding facebook and instagram posts and pages if this is a priority for your application.

We understand that embedded content from these providers is desirable to many of our clients, however we can only offer a service that's as good as the upstream provider is willing to extend to our APIs.
